Cutest Husband Ever...

I have the best husband. He really made my day when this little cutie showed up on my doorstep today :) I have been wanting an ipod shuffle but I didn't want to spend money on myself. On the back he had it engraved. it says "Come Waste Your Time With Me" Waste- Phish

Don't want to be an actor pretending on the stage
Don't want to be a writer with my thoughts out on the page
Don't want to be a painter 'cause everyone comes to look
Don't want to be anything where my life's an open book

A dream it's true
But I'd see it through
If I could be
Wasting my time with you

Don't want to be a farmer working in the sun
Don't want to be an outlaw always on the run
Don't want to be a climber reaching for the top
Don't want to be anything where I don't know when to stop

A dream it's true
But I'd see it through
If I could be
Wasting my time with you

So if I'm inside your head
Don't believe what you might have read
You'll see what I might have said
To hear

Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me

So if I'm inside your head
Don't believe what you might have read
You'll see what I might have said
To hear

Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me

Sarah Palin

I know I said I didn't get into political conversations but I'm really wound up tonight so I think I will.

I've read and listened to a lot of people's opinions about Sarah Palin. She is obviously getting a very positive attention from a lot of people. However I'm finding it really sad at the negative attention she is getting. Its politics I know that comes with negative stuff but come one this isn't even about her career. The negative feedback is about her personal life. Its frustrating.

I was in the book store. A group of mothers were sitting around watching their kids play in the little play area. Standing right next to it I of course could hear their entire conversation. Three ladies knew each other and then asked the lady standing beside me if she could handle being a mother and VP. The girl was like ooh no I only have two and couldn't handle it. I don't know how she thinks she can do it with five. Another lady pooped off ooh she'll just get a nanny blah blah blah.

Here is what I don't understand... Yes she is a mother of five. Yes her personal life obviously leaves her very busy. Yes she has an infant. Yes the infant has down syndrome. However if she were male NONE of this would be an issue. Nobody has bashed Obama for having his girls on the campaign trail. Nobody has bashed him for saying that if him and his wife are not able to take care of the girls that their grandmother does. But since she is female her taking a high powered role in this country makes her less of a parent. Why can a man spend that much time away from home and still be a good parent but a woman can't? They've already said her husband took a leave from his job that he probably won't go back to help take care of the kids. I can not imagine the hours she'll put in as VP but i also think there are a lot of females who put those kind of hours in with any other job. (Doctors, nurses, lawyers, etc etc etc) Are those women less of a mother than me? I'm a SAHM so I spend every second with my kids but I don't see how that would make me a better mother. It just blows my mind that any woman could fault another woman for taking on this role. Or any other job for that matter.

Sure if you don't agree with her politics then don't vote for her. Sure if you disagree with the way she has ran her career then by all means don't like her. But to trash her simply because she is a mother is just ridiculous. This isn't the Donna Reed life anymore... Women can have a life outside of their home!!!

And just as a quick note if I hear one more person make a comment about McCain dying in the next four years I'm going to go off on them. Seriously, thats horrible to think about someone. I don't think anybody would like to hear their lives discussed on national tv and how likely it is that they'll die soon! So get over it. The man has went through hell and survived it.. I don't think the next four years are going to be much of a problem!

My First Time Voting

Now I don't typically get into political discussions and for the most part its because everybody is out to change my views. I don't mind listening to what people believe but I do get mad when they feel the need to change my mind. So I just stay out of it.

This is the first time I've admited this publically. I have never voted. In fact I am just now registering to vote. Pretty sad for an American to admit at my age and even sader I am sure for a military wife to admit. However I have had many reasons to not voting.. Most of all I didn't feel educated enough. Its not that I haven't cared its because I have never felt like I knew enough to cast a vote on something so important. And I'm sure some of that was out of being too lazy to figure it all out. Most of all its because everybody I would ask about it would be one sided so I didnt feel like I was learning anything at all.

So this year will be my very first vote. And I am pretty excited about that. I have paid close attention to everything going on. I have been researching and I really think I'm figuring out more than I ever knew before. I still don't get most things but I'm working on it.

I will proudly be casting my vote for McCain and Palin. :)
