So Proud :)

I am so proud of Patrick. On a normal day I am proud of the way he serves his country. I am certainly proud of him for being the amazing father that he is but today I'm over whelmed with pride.

He volunteered to go on this deployment. Some people may call it selfish to leave his kids like that but I see it as something amazing. Its not selfish. Its people like him and the several others I know how volunteered who keep this country safe. Its also people like him who make it possible for others to stay home.

Now he told me that he volunteered for even more. He is going to be part of a group who is going to be going out to the villages and talking to their leaders. Finding out what each village needs and then working on a solution.

Once again, this is not something he had to do. He could probably do a lot of stuff in that spare time but probably nothing this great. I am so excited that my kids will be able to some day say "this is what my dad for that village or this is what my dad helped to do for another village" Iraqi lives will be personally changed by my husband and by the men who volunteered with him. Its a great feeling to know my husband is doing so much. It makes this year apart from him worth while. It is stressful and it sucks to be away from him but how often can people say "My husband changed so many lives and I'm proud to support that!"

Sadly, I am sure my kids will grow up hearing the negative sides of this war. How many lives have been lost, how people were against it, who felt were over there for wrong reasons, who thinks this, and who thinks that. Its awesome that my kids will have a chance to fight back with very positive sides of this war. I hate how this country feeds on the negative instead of looking for the positive in situations.

Ok enough rambling for today. I could get on a soap box and really go on about this sort of stuff but I choose to keep it on a positive note. My husband Rocks :)

Let me go home...

During this deployment Patrick and I are trying to figure out just where our home will be. I feel like him and I have never actually had a chance to settle in and call a place "our home." Its heartbreaking to think about. He is working hard not only on his missions but working even harder to find jobs. Again that is something I feel like we do all the time. Job searching. He still has his civilian job to come home to but its not what he really enjoys. Its not even in a location that either of us would like to live. After four years of marriage I'd just like to be able to feel settled. I want to be out of this town. I would rather be completely out of this state. Some where that its just Patrick, myself, and the girls. Where the four of us only have each other to depend on. To grow as a family, to work, to make new friends, and to start a "life"

So where ooh where is this life going to be--

Here Possibly?

Makennah still asks all the time if she can move to GA and be a beach bum :) I can not wait till he finds the job he wants. I can not wait till i can plan the location of our move. And even more so I can not wait to get my own life started.... School, job, or whatever I can find to get into :)

Went to the zoo today. Fun was had by all. Seen some fun animals. Let the kids get wet. Wore them out and a two hour nap followed. Nice :)

This guy Rocks-

Check Him Out--- Some older blogs are from my husband's unit :)

Wow- Again I suck at this blogging stuff.

I decided to read some blogs that I hadn't read for awhile and I realized that it had been awhile since I had blogged. I'm going to make it a point to write more often.

Its already June! Where has this year gone?

Madeline is a year old already. My sweetest baby is a "toddler" now. She said her first words the other day. While most parents believe a child's first words are amazing, I think Madeline's was the very best. She is a genius child who must have known her daddy needed something special that day. (Ok maybe genius is a bit much but I'm her mama, i can go over the top on how i describe her!) Patrick called and as I handed her the phone I said "Say hi to daddy" Her very first words "Hi dad!" Like such a big girl. It was truly amazing and I get a little teary just thinking about it.

Makennah is such a great little girl. She loves learning and figuring everything out. From who all is her family (and how they are family) to figuring out how to get places to her letters and reading. Her imagination is growing and she is always coming up with some sort of game to play.

Patrick has been in Iraq awhile now. He is doing so well. I can not describe how proud of him I am. He certainly is an amazing man. The way he is handling this deployment is awesome. His strength is what helps keep me going. Even if he doesn't know it, he is what keeps me going through everything. It doesn't matter if he is here or not- I know that he is behind me every step of the way. I love him. :)

Me- There isn't much to update. I started filling out financial aid papers and I am planning to go back to school this fall. I have several emotions. I am scared. I haven't been in school for years. I am excited. I have been wanting something of my own. I am nervous. I am happy. I am soo many things. Now to figure out a plan--- What do I want to do with life? :)

So thats us in a nutshell... I'll be keeping up with this from now on :)
